Adelina Tončan and Julian Postelniku started fundraising campaigns through the Galantom platform and managed to collect 59,196 lei and 13,926 lei, respectively. They come from different walks of life and have different motives, but what they have in common is the desire to change the lives of vulnerable children who need the altruistic involvement of good people.

Yulian Postelnik is 44 years old, he is an actor and screenwriter. In 2002, he graduated from the acting section of the “Ion Luca Caragiale” University of Theater and Cinematography in Bucharest in the class of Professor Demo Redulescu. He wrote scripts for the TV series “Mondenii”, “Las Fierbinți” and “A crazy week”. His talent has been awarded with two Gopo awards, and now he is starring in the feature film “Oameni de treabă” directed by Paul Negoescu.

In 2021, he intended to run a half marathon 143 days in a row. He completed the challenge on December 21, just before Christmas, eventually running 3,017km to educate vulnerable children attending CONCORDIA Primary School. He says he learned about this social cause from a friend and wanted to get involved and change the lives of children. He felt the need to give up several times, but the promise he made indirectly to the children by creating the Galantom page made him not give up.

Adelina Tonchan is the captain of the Blondie Association, which provides day and night air transport abroad, especially for children with heart defects who need urgent surgery.

“Love heals both the giver and the receiver. I no longer know whose side I am on and whether there was a demarcation between them,” says Adelina. She knows the pain parents feel when they find out that their child has a heart defect. On October 25, 2014, Adelina Tonchan lost her little boy Christy, nicknamed Blondie, at the age of just 13. It was then that he founded the Association of Blondes, which he says is a decision “to make sure no one dies before they know what it’s like to be loved.”

According to the website asociatia-blondie.ro, in Romania, people who need treatment abroad can pay the cost of treatment, but not the cost of transport. Most often, families of children cannot bear the expenses and need help. In one year, the Blondie Association transported 91 children and 6 adults, and they paid 850,000 euros, money that was raised through donations from generous people and corporate sponsors who understood how important it is to participate where it matters.

Every year, Adelina celebrates her birthday at Galantom to raise funds for the Blondie Association. During the pandemic, he offered to buy his own plane and later turn it into medical aviation, which would be available for those who need to travel for medical purposes. You can also support this initiative by making a donation or opening your own fundraising page on the Galantom platform.

This year, the “Portrait de Galantome” series brought together 20 generous and soulful people who want to put their energy into the service of good and bring hope where there may not have been any. They allowed themselves to be photographed to communicate what they believe in and further inspire the people who read their stories. So, if you also decided that you want to join this year, you still have time to open a page on the Galantom platform.

Helping is so easy! If you also want to donate your day or participate in a sporting event for a social cause, you can find more information on how you can do this at Galantom.ro.
