The distribution of candidates who scored a passing score based on the results of the competition for admission to clinical residency in November 2022, organized by the Ministry of Health together with 6 universities of medicine and pharmacy, has been completed. In the field of medicine, out of 4,734 places and positions open for competition, 628 places remained unfilled.
Given the fact that many unfilled places are from the category of scarce specialties (emergency medicine, family medicine, accident and emergency medicine, neonatology, pediatric surgery, public health and management, epidemiology, medical microbiology, etc.), as well as the fact that “graduates of medical of the faculty receive the right to practice only after obtaining the title of specialist as resident doctors”, – reports the Ministry of Health, which is considering the possibility of holding a new residency competition for vacant places and positions.
According to the institution headed by Alexandru Rafila, this competition can be organized, “extraordinarily”, in the first half of 2023.
In the “Dental medicine” and “Pharmacy” fields, the places were completely filled at the session of November 20, 2022. Licensed graduates of these faculties have the right to freely engage in practice, without passing a competition in clinical residency and obtaining the title of specialist.
