Yesterday, from 10:00 to 15:00, about 1200 citizens took a tour of the metro station in Papafi, where they had the opportunity to board the train and take pictures of the area, and today, from the very beginning of the tours until 11:00 am, on a tour that lasts 15-20 minutes, about 200 people signed up. In addition, yesterday, from 10:00 to 15:00, a tour was held at the Pilea metro station for 800 people, and today it is expected that there will be more tours, as there was a long queue of citizens waiting to register.

The metro station in Papafi was designed by the architect Maria Maggioru. Like all stations, it has a central platform with doors that isolate it from the track area and open only when a train arrives. The trains are modern, super-automatic, unmanned and use a state-of-the-art wireless signaling system to communicate with the Control Center.

The Pilea metro station is located on an area of ​​50 acres and consists of two main building complexes designed by the architect Polikseni Antóniou. These complexes house train parking and maintenance facilities, as well as the System Control Centre.

Open House is an international architecture organization that began in London in 1992 as a two-day free architectural tour once a year. It has been held in Thessaloniki since 2012 by AMKE Open House Greece as a non-profit activity based on volunteering, sponsorship and donations. 66 buildings participate in the program of excursions, which have been held since yesterday.
