Police in Cluj announced on Monday that they had launched an investigation after images appeared in local media of two police officers allegedly beating a handcuffed man as he fell to the ground.

The images published by stiridecluj.ro were taken from a balcony and are not very clear, but they show how the person fell to the ground. At first, two agents appear on the footage, then a third comes, who will use force, the victim can be heard screaming on the audio.

The Cluj Police announced that an investigation was launched after the images appeared, TVR News reports: “In view of the images that appeared in the public space, the management of the Cluj District Police Inspectorate ordered internal checks to be carried out regarding the intervention in the event. dated November 26, made in the city of Cluj-Napoca”.

According to the quoted source, Cluj-Napoca police were notified of a conflict that broke out in a restaurant on Respublika street in the city. Arriving at the scene, the police identified the culprit of the scandal, he refused to show his ID and, moreover, ran away from the police.
