Three years after tenders began in 2019, the China Construction Engineering and Construction Corporation has been declared the winner of the design and construction of Lot 3 of the Bucharest North Ring Road (A0 North), the National Road Infrastructure Management Company announced on Friday.
“CNAIR SA has completed the process of re-evaluation of bids submitted in the contract award procedure for “Design and execution of the Bucharest Ring Road km 0+000-km 100+900, Northern Belt sector km 0+000-km 52+ 770, Lot 3: km 39 +000-km 47+600”, the company reported.
China Construction Engineering and Construction Corporation will design and execute 8.6 km of A0 at a cost of 397,996,117.63 lei excluding VAT and will be ready within 30 months after the signing of the contract, of which 12 months are for the design period and 18 months for the works. execution time, after the order to start.
“The signing of the public procurement contract will be possible after the deadline for submitting any appeals and, accordingly, after the resolution of appeals/complaints formulated in the award procedure,” the CNAIR press release also states.
The warranty period is 10 years.
“As part of the contract, the contractor will build including 7 passages (two of them with a length of 318.30 m and 466.50 m, respectively). The construction of Lot 3 (Afumati – Pantelimon) will cost 397.99 million lei (without VAT) and is financed from European funds,” said Transport Minister Sorin Grindianu.
“As part of the contract, the future contractor will create several complex works of art, including 7 passes on and over the track, two of which are 318.30 m and 466.50 m long, respectively. The signing of the public procurement contract will be possible after the end of the period for submitting any objections and, accordingly, after the settlement of the objections/complaints formulated in the award procedure,” CNAIR noted.
Although earlier in the year there was talk of a possible partial opening of the A0 south, we will not have a single kilometer of motorway on the A0 open in 2022.
Of the 101 km that the A0 ring road would have, contracts have been signed for 75.5 km, and a significant part of the work is already underway: on the entire A0 South (52 km), as well as on 19 km (DN1-DN2). ) from A0 Nord, where Romanian builder UMB has started construction.
In 2023 and 2024, all approximately 52 kilometers on the southern side of the A0 ring road should theoretically be completed and open to traffic, offering intensive and transit traffic a new option to bypass the capital from the A1 to the A2.
Work is now underway on three sections of the A0 South, although the completion of section 3 is long overdue, after long delays had already accumulated at the design stage, the Greeks from Aktor only received CNAIR approval a year ago, although the contract was already signed in 2019.
