“I don’t think there is a family in Romania, or we should support a family in Romania, that has working parents and lives only on child support,” he claims.
“The allowances will increase with the calculated level of inflation… with the one prescribed in the law and which we know. (…) This is what we are doing now, and at the end of the day, I don’t think that there is a family in Romania, or we should not support a family in Romania that has working parents and lives only on children allowance,” said the labor minister on Romanian television on Tuesday evening.
As for families living solely on child benefits, Budai argued that their adults should be “work-oriented.”
Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke officially announced on Monday evening that at a coalition meeting it was decided to increase the pension point by 12.5% starting January 1, so that it would be 1,784 lei.
