Even if you don’t know who he is George Lois, you will certainly learn much of what he did. OUR “Golden Greek” as was the nickname of a New Yorker of Greek origin, he died at the age of 91, having traveled many miles in the world in his life advertising, but also with a wonderful stay in Esq. in the 60s and 70s, through which he gave the name to some of his most legendary covers, which should be taught to aspiring illustrators of glossy magazines (those that remain).

The boy, who was once guarded from being “eaten” by Irish children in his New York neighborhood, has grown up to become one of his famous advertisers. Madison Avenue and be part of the so-called “Creative Revolution”. which spurred American advertising in the 1950s and 1960s.

OUR Muhammad Ali taken by arrows like another Saint Sebastian hanging from the U.S. stands in 1968. Phrase “I want my MTV!” (“I want my MTV!”), which became a buzzword in the 80s (and later the title of Craig Marks and Rob Tenenbaum’s amazing oral book about the music channel). His successful campaign EOT in the mid-80s, when 37 non-Greek celebrities paraded around saying, “I’m coming home. In Greece, where it all began.” It was a response to Ronald Reagan and the announcement of Greece as a dangerous tourist destination at the time.

Behind all these and dozens of other brilliant moments was none other than George Lois. And besides, it was he who, as they say, inspired its creators “Mad Men” for the main character Don Draper — something that Lois himself was not thrilled with (“When I was 30, I looked better than Don Draper,” he said).

However, looking back at Esquire covers who passed through the hands of George Lois are still admired for their scathing comments about the rise of America through spartan pop music.

That’s why we choose the ones that we highlight a little more:
