Energy Minister Virgil Popescu said on Prima TV on Saturday that he recommended Romanians who can afford to replace the thermal plant. He specified that the coalition established that the Rabla program for household appliances should also include apartment centrals.
In the Insider Politic program, Virgil Popescu was asked where the electricity consumption thresholds fall, writes News.ro.
“I put up to 300 in the house here where I live near Bucharest, but I also put more than 300 in Turnu Severin, where I have heat pumps, but I also have photovoltaic panels there. But I consume a lot there, because in the winter I am heated by heat pumps, and it consumes a lot, but also in the summer, the consumption is above 300 kilowatts,” answered the Minister of Energy.
When asked if he wastes, Virgil Popescu explained: “It’s not about waste. Being an engineer by profession, I was concerned about automation and efficiency. In Turn Severin I have a fully automated system with photovoltaic panels with temperature measurement. I try to save money. Last winter I replaced the boiler with a new condensing one. Costs and gas consumption were reduced by 30%, and we added, probably because of this, a system of temperature measurement and automatic temperature regulation, hourly, during the day. She knows what time I come home, what’s on schedule, and if I want it to be warmer, I call, turn on the warmer panel and it’s warmer at home.”
He clarified that he recommended the Romanians to change the thermal power plants.
“I recommended to Romanians, those who can afford it, to change the power plant, to switch to efficient power plants. Together with the Minister of the Environment in the coalition, we decided that it is about the Rabla program for household appliances, to include apartment central units, so that people who cannot afford to buy a central unit can change it, get help, because the state, in turn , will benefit from the fact that gas consumption is reduced,” Virgil Popescu also noted.
