Ronnie O’Sullivan beaten 6-0 by Ding Junhui

The seven-time world champion Rocket scored just 84 points in a 6-0 loss to the Chinese, currently ranked only 38th in the world.

Three-time winner of the competition (2005, 2009 and 2019) Ding Junhui was fouled several times early in the match, but O’Sullivan did not take advantage.

The Chinese played better and better (he also managed to make a break of 131 points) and stopped Ronnie on the way to a new record (he could surpass Steve Davis for the number of matches played in the British Championship – both now have 118).

This is the first time in history that Ronnie O’Sullivan has lost a match in a Triple Crown tournament (World Championship, Masters, UK Championship) with a clean sheet.
