​Mid-Century style returns to the spotlight for interior enthusiasts at the Two Centuries of Design – Interior Collection Auction event hosted by A10 by Artmark auction house next week, Thursday, November 24. The charm of the mid-century style brings the joy and tranquility of the post-war period, reflected in many of the 162 decorative elements.

Currents that come to change the period defined by the modernism of the beginning of the last century in the decorative arts are becoming more and more heterogeneous, designers now have the opportunity to enjoy complete freedom in terms of creation, both thanks to technological evolution and thanks to the opening of the market for variety and relevance. With the development of technology, postmodern designers began to add to the nobility of classic materials such as wood and bronze, new textures such as plastic, fiberglass, aluminum or curved plywood. Thus, everything that appeared in this period, known as the era of “postmodernism”, notes unconventionality, essentialization of forms, as well as color, innovation, respecting also the function of utility. Mid-century accents remain in interior design today, and those who prefer geometric patterns, sleek lines, simple, relaxing yet sophisticated armchairs and sofas will find them in the contemporary collection of the collection sold at auction on November 24.
