EDSNA and the Attica region offer 7 steps to add value to our garbage

In Attica, we decided to “deal” with a monster that lives and grows all over the world: a garbage monster that threatens not only Attica, but the entire planet. A monster that the longer we let it “feed” on our trash, the bigger it gets and the harder it will be to deal with in the future.

We can defeat this monster of garbage and the evolution of efforts to achieve this goal, attempts to highlight symbolically, but also with practical instructions, the second phase of the outreach campaign implemented by the Attica Special Interlayer Communication Prefecture. (EDSNA) and the region of Attica.

The second phase of the campaign shows the following:

7 steps taken today by EDSNA and the Attica region in collaboration with 66 municipalities to change the way waste is handled in the basin.
Supply and free distribution of modern recycling equipment, which is gradually being placed in every municipality of Attica so that every citizen can easily recycle
A way to bring brown bins and separate collection of bio-waste into our lives through free distribution 200 brown garbage trucks as well as 45,000 containers in the municipalities.
Educating citizens about recycling and adopting circular economy principles through the Attica Recycling Observatory and 60 mobile green spots that move daily in almost all municipalities.

With simple and understandable steps, every resident of Attica can increase the value of their garbage, which is the central message of the campaign.

The second phase of the campaign allows us to get acquainted with all the available “weapons” that we now have so that we can contribute to the solution of the problem by separating the garbage from the house itself, adopting new methods such as the brown trash can and finally placing it to the right waste bins and recycling corners, which are now located in many places throughout Attica.

Thus, the waste will never become garbage. Instead, they will acquire value.

To deal with the garbage monster, we will simply use the new equipment that we have at our disposal. We put garbage in the right bins and thus give it value.
