Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev believes the West is increasing the likelihood of World War III by waging a hybrid war with Russia, after two people were killed in a rocket explosion on Tuesday, Russian news agency TASS reported.
Dmytro Medvedev, a prominent ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, says the explosion was caused by a Ukrainian missile strike and believes it could be an escalation of the conflict, which Russia began on February 24 by accusing the West of waging war with the Russian Federation.
“The story of the Ukrainian “missile attack” on a Polish farm proves only one thing: the West, with its hybrid war with Russia, increases the probability of a world war,” Medvedev wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense disputed media and Polish officials’ claims that Russian missiles had fallen to the ground, saying there had been no attacks from Russian weapons near Poland’s border with Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the remains, the photos of which were published by the Polish press, were not related to Russian missiles.
