Andriy Rublev won the first match of this edition of the Tournament of Champions, after a great duel that lasted more than two and a half hours, against his compatriot Daniil Medvedev, whom he defeated in three sets with a score of 6-7 (7-9), 6-3 and 7 -6 (9-7).

In the first set, the dispute was very tough and was finally decided on a tie-break, where the winner of the Vienna tournament, Daniil Medvedev, won.

The second set was one in which the athlete, who is ranked 7th in the ATP hierarchy, made a more aggressive evolution, managing to impose himself on the opponent’s serve twice.

In the third set, the tension increased even more, but Rublev seemed to be one step ahead of his opponent every time. An hour later, the decisive set ended, and Rublev settled the dispute on a tiebreak, missing 4 match points.
