American Brandon Nakashima (ranked 49th in the ATP ranking) won the ATP Next Gen competition with a total prize fund of 1.4 million dollars. The tournament brought together the best young players of the men’s professional tennis series in Milan.

Brandon Nakashima wins ATP Next Gen

In the final, Nakashima overcame the Czech Jiri Lehecka (74 ATP), score 4-3(7/5), 4-3 (8/6), 4-2.

At the age of 21, the American also defeated Leheka in the group stage with a score of 4-1, 4-3 (2), 4-2.

Nakashima replaces Carlos Alcaraz, the Iberian who won the tournament in 2021.

The injury forced Alcaraz to withdraw from the 2022 Tournament of Champions, the competition that debuts on Sunday in Turin.
