A man suspected of abducting two sisters from Brasov was spotted on the road in the Vala Kalugariaska commune in Prague. He was with two children in the car, according to the first information of the investigation, two girls were sexually abused.

Kostyantyn Zapan, a 42-year-old man accused of abducting two sisters from Vama Buzeului commune, Brasov county, was stopped on the way by a police crew from the Prahova district.

According to the spokesperson of the Prahova police inspectorate, Mihaela Florescu, after the state alert was announced regarding the abduction of the two girls, the police installed road filters in Prahova as well.

“Around 5:00 p.m., the operational team of the Ploiesti Municipal Police stopped a car in motion in the radius of the commune of Valea Călugărească, in the village of Valea Nicovani. A 42-year-old man was driving with two minors,” Mihalea Florescu said.

Judicial sources told News.ro that the man who kidnapped them sexually assaulted the two sisters, aged 10 and 12. Everything happened in a car, where the girls were kept all night and the next day until they were found.

The victims confirmed the aggression and recognized the aggressor, who justified the facts by the fact that he was drunk.

10 years ago, he was convicted of rape and placed on the register of persons engaged in sexual assault.

On Saturday evening, a psychologist from the Main Department of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Brasov helps two children who were kidnapped from their family by a friend of their mother’s concubine.

DGASCP officials told News.ro that the girls were summoned to the hearing and were accompanied by an employee of the directorate, a psychologist. On Friday evening around 7:00 p.m., a man took the girls from the family’s home under the pretext of taking them to a barbecue and playing with other children, promising to return them home in two hours.

The next day, Saturday, November 12, around 10:25, the girls’ mother called 112 when she noticed that the man was not answering her phone. The girls were missing from home for more than 12 hours.

On Saturday afternoon, Brasov police reported the abduction of two girls, sisters, aged 10 and 12, respectively. On Friday evening, the girls were taken from home by a man, a friend of their mother’s concubine, to go and have a barbecue at his house and play with other children.

“On November 12, 2022, around 10:25 a.m., the dispatcher of the Brasov County Police Inspectorate was notified through a single emergency call of 112 about the disappearance of two minors, namely Repede Gabriela-Michaela, 12 years old, and Hecso Olena-Andrei, 10 years old. During the investigation, it was found that on November 11 of this year at around 19:00 at the residence of minors, located in the commune of Vama Buzeului, Brasov County, a man named Kosti, an acquaintance of the concubine of the mother of two minors, appeared, who would have asked for consent from mother to take the two girls to go have a barbecue at his house and play with the other children, returning home around 9:00 p.m. Since the two minors did not return home, and the man in question no longer answers the phone calls, the mother of the two minors informed the police,” the Brasov District Police reported.

County police announced hours later that the two sisters, who were reported abducted by authorities, had been found in Prahova County, and the man who took them was in police custody and would be brought to a hearing to determine the exact status of the case.
