“From now on, Henichesk is the temporary administrative capital of the Kherson region. All the main authorities are concentrated there,” said Fomin.

According to TASS, the Russian armed forces took control of the city of Henichesk on February 27, just a few days after the illegal invasion of Ukraine.

The city is located on the shore of the Sea of Azov and is known as a seaport and resort.

Although there is little in the Russian press about the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kherson, from the right bank of the Dnieper to the left bank, and the reason for this, which was given by order of the Minister of Defense of Russia, Sergei Shoigu. The TASS agency claims that the proposal of the commander of the troop group from the zone of “special military operation” Serhiy Surovikin is related “among other things” to the “isolation of the military” after the flooding of territories in the event of detonation at the Novokakhovskaya HPP dam.
