Captain America actor Chris Evans was named 2022’s “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine on Monday, after his Marvel co-star, Reuters and Agerpres reported.

Evans, who is 41 and single, said he found the title “a strange form of modest praise”. However, the star really wanted to share the news with her biggest supporter – her mother.

“My mom will be very happy,” Evans told People. “She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can really brag about,” the Boston native added.

Evans’ popularity has grown over the years, from starring in one of his first television series, The Opposite Sex, in 2000 to playing Steve Rogers/Captain America.

Despite the numerous honors received in Hollywood, the star of Gray man – the most expensive movie Netflix has ever produced – has aspirations outside of acting, including marriage and parenthood.

While he still needs time to get used to his new title, the actor told People that he’ll look back on the honor when he’s “old and cranky.”

In 2021, Paul Rudd, Evans’ co-star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, received the People magazine title.
