Gabriel Burtanete finished 4th in the vault final on Sunday at the World Gymnastics Championships. Romania leaves the competition in Liverpool without a medal.

Burtanete scored 14,666 points on the first jump and 14,400 on the second, for an average of 14,533 points, which placed him in 4th place.

In qualifying, he had the third mark on vault (14.633).

Athlete Artur Davtyan (Armenia, 15,050 points) won the gold medal, Carlos Edriel Yulo (Philippines, 14,950) and Ihor Radivilov (Ukraine, 14,733) took second place on the podium.

Gabriel Burtanete also performed in the final of the individual complex, in which he took 23rd place. Romania was represented in the final only in the individual complex among women through Ana Barbosa (20th place), writes News.ro.

The competition in Liverpool concludes on Sunday, the day when the last finals are scheduled for the shot put, parallel bars and uneven bars (men) respectively.

More than 400 athletes have registered for the 51st World Championships at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.
