The name of President Klaus Iohannis appears together with figures of Saxon descent from Transylvania in a children’s book published in Sibiu on the initiative of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania (FDGR) with the financial support of the Department of Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Government of Romania, Council Tower writes.

According to a local publication, it is a book of riddles and puzzles for children – “Kirchenburgen Rätselspaß” (Entertaining puzzles about fortified churches) – published last year by Honterus from Sibiu.

The notebook contains riddles, riddles, proverbs, word games and other types of educational games in which you need to insert the missing words, find the corresponding expressions or guess the colors of the coats of arms of the cities of Transylvania.

The notebook is promoted by the German community together with culture and history books published in Sibiu on the occasion of the various events in which they participate. For example, the participants of Friday’s symposium organized by FDGR on the occasion of commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Romanian-German partnership had the opportunity to review it, writes Turnul Sfatului.

“Five famous Saxons lost their way”

The book also has a maze-exercise, in which five personalities of Saxon origin are depicted and five images that fit each of them. Description of the task: “Five famous Saxons got lost. Help them find their way home by lighting their way with colored pencils.”

Personalities: Baron Samuel von Bruckenthal (1721-1803), Saxon Lutheran teacher and pastor born in Mediasch, Stefan Ludwig Roth (1796-1849), scientist, one of the founders of rocketry and astronaut Hermann Obert (1894-1894). 1989), the founder of the Saxon Gymnasium from Brasov, from the courtyard of the Black Church, Johannes Gonterus (1498-1549), as well as the former mayor of Sibiu, the current president of Romania, Klaus Iohannis (born in 1959).

Images that match the top five are: St. Margaret’s Church in Mediaş, Black Church in Brasov, Lucha House in Sibiu, Bruckenthal Palace in Sibiu and the Space Rocket.

Klaus Johannis is credited with the image of the House of Lucha on the Marais Square, where the FDGR headquarters are now located.
