Over time, many athletes have suffered from a variety of medical problems, and in many cases cancer has dominated.

The latest example we know of is Sebastien Haller, a Borussia Dortmund player who was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Haller is currently training separately with players from his former team, Ajax Amsterdam.

However, there are some athletes who fought the disease and hid this problem from the world. One of them is Manuel Neuer, the world champion for Germany and the current goalkeeper of Bayern Munich.

Manuel Neuer, operated 3 times due to skin cancer

36-year-old Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer told the media that he underwent 3 operations due to skin cancer, which caused the German athlete a lot of trouble.

Together with three-time Grand Slam winner Angelique Kerber, Manuel Neuer founded a company that produces sunscreen lotions and other skin care and protection products.

“Angelica has hyperpigmentation due to the sun, and in my case it was facial skin cancer, for which I underwent three operations.

That’s why we made sure we didn’t compromise on sun protection: because I train outside all the time and I like to spend my free time in nature.” – recalled Manuel Neuer, world champion as part of the German national team in 2014.
