For the eleventh time in his career Taylor Swift reaches the top of Billboard’s record-breaking album list in its first week of release.

“Midnights” has sold over one million copies since its release on October 21st. But the success did not stop there, as more than half a million vinyl records were sold.

According to Billboard, the album has sold 1.578 million copies. The last time an album reached a high number of weekly sales was in 2015, when Adele had 25 sales.

This achievement ties Swift with Barbra Streisand for being the female artist with the most number one albums in the United States. Along with Drake, The Beatles, Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen, they are the only artists with more than 10 records to reach the top.

In addition to Swift, another new release hit the Billboard chart. The Arctic Monkeys album “The Car” managed to enter the top ten in the US charts. But in the UK, this album is possibly the first for the band not to reach No. 1. And there Swift excelled.
