Nine cars of a freight train loaded with coal derailed on Tuesday morning at the exit of the Răcari stop in Dolj County, causing several passenger trains to be delayed, “CFR” SA announced.

According to the source, the railway warehouse, consisting of 39 wagons loaded with coal (3100 tons), belongs to the national operator of railway freight transportation and runs on the Motru Est – Chernele route.

The derailment of 9 cars, of which 6 overturned, occurred between Răcari and Coțofeni stations, the incident will be investigated by a specialized commission, CFR notes.

As for rail passenger transportation, SRCF Craiova will provide transshipment of passengers from trains that will transit through this area on the route Filasi – Kotsofeni. According to CFR SA, the passengers of train R 2080 have already been taken away by carriages.
