A 38-year-old woman accused of attempted murder of her ex-husband with a caustic liquid was sentenced to temporary imprisonment in the early morning of Saturday, October 22, in a hotel in Heraklion, by the unanimous opinion of the investigator and the prosecutor.
The 38-year-old woman, according to her lawyers, claimed to be the woman who had been abused by the 36-year-old victim, adding that even that night she received another abusive behavior from him. She also stated that she was frightened and for this reason did not immediately surrender to the authorities.
Lawyers for the 38-year-old man, Apostolos Lytras and Manolis Draconakis, stressed in their statements that their client, in their apology, rejected claims that there was another woman featured in the case, noting that after the liquid attack she said she was determined and bought her on the Internet, left the hotel on foot, and then took a taxi.
“In her apology, she stated that she feared for her life and received threats,” Mr. Litras said.
