King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands will pay an official visit to Greece from October 30 to November 2 at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

The program of the Dutch royal couple in Athens will begin on Monday, October 31, with a wreath-laying at the monument to the Unknown Soldier, and then at 09:35 they will move to the Presidential Palace, where the official reception ceremony will take place. , as well as award ceremonies for the King and Queen of the Netherlands and the President of the Republic.

Then at 09:45 President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Mr. Pavlos Kotsonis will have a personal meeting with King Wilhelm-Alexander of the Netherlands and Queen Maxima.

Then, at 10:30 am, the royal couple will meet with the Ombudsman of Greece and the Netherlands at the Dutch Institute of Athens, and at 1:30 pm they will visit the archaeological site of the Acropolis.

At 15.00 they will meet with the Mayor of Athens Kostas Bakoyannis at the Technopolis, after which there will be a reception for the Dutch community.

In the evening at 20:00 the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will host an official dinner at the Presidential Palace in honor of the King and Queen of the Netherlands.

The second day of the official visit includes at 09:35 the participation of the King and Queen of the Netherlands, together with the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, in a round table discussion on violence against women in the foyer of the National Library of Greece. at the Cultural Center of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

Right after that at 11.00 they will take part in the 14th Innovation and Startup Entrepreneurship Competition “The Squeeze” at the Lighthouse of the Cultural Center of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

At 12:25 the Royal couple of the Netherlands will visit the children’s oncology department “Elpida”, and at 15:00 – the school block and accommodation for minors.

At 20:00, the Concert Hall will host the Reply Event of the King and Queen of the Netherlands in honor of the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

On Wednesday, November 2, King Wilhelm Alexander of the Netherlands and Queen Maxima will leave Athens for Thessaloniki to continue and complete their official visit to our country.
