On Friday, singer Rihanna released her first song in six years, an emotional ballad written as a tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, Reuters reported.
Rihanna’s new track is called “Lift Me Up” and is her first since her 2016 album Anti.
This song was included in the soundtrack of the upcoming Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The film is a sequel to the 2018 box office hit Black Panther, in which Chadwick Boseman played King T’Challa.
The actor died in 2020 after a four-year battle with colon cancer, which he did not talk about. He was 43 years old.
Rihanna’s fans have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up to Anti, her eighth studio album.
Although the singer collaborated on the songs “Lemon” and “Believe it”, “Lift Me Up” was her first solo album after “Anti”.
In recent years, the 34-year-old Grammy winner, who will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show in February, has developed her own makeup and lingerie lines.
In May, Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, became parents.
