The world has entered the most dangerous and unpredictable decade since World War II, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday, accusing the West of seeking to maintain its dominance over the planet, AFP, EFE and Agerpres reported.
“We are in a historic moment. Undoubtedly, the most dangerous, most important, most unpredictable decade after 1945 awaits us,” the Kremlin leader assessed in his speech at the Valdai Discussion Forum in Moscow.
“The West is not in a position to rule the world, but it is desperately trying, and most of the peoples of the world will not agree,” Putin continued, according to whom humanity is currently in a “revolutionary situation.”
According to the Russian president, his military offensive against Ukraine is part of this “tectonic change in the world order.”
A war has begun in Ukraine, “the struggle for the survival of Russia”
He also presented this offensive as a struggle for the survival of Russia. “Russia is not challenging the West, Russia is only defending its right to exist,” Putin said.
In this new indictment of his geopolitical rivals, who are supporting and arming Ukraine to face the Russian army, the Kremlin leader accused the US and Western countries in general of trying to “destroy, wipe (Russia) off the world map.” bloody and dirty” geopolitical game.
But “he who sows the wind reaps the storm,” he warned, arguing that Western powers would eventually have to discuss a “shared future” “on equal footing” with Russia and the rest of the world. In this sense, he advocated the reflection of the world’s diversity in UN structures, including in the Security Council.
