President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi in his new speech noted that Ukraine should limit electricity consumption in the context of Saturday’s attacks on infrastructure and given the fact that it is impossible to produce energy in sufficient quantities, reports news.ro.
“The technical possibility of electricity supply has been restored in all our regions, which on Saturday became the object of a Russian terrorist attack. I am grateful to everyone who worked tirelessly to bring light to people.
Of course. In many cities and counties, our power companies must plan outages to stabilize the system. This is done so that all people have access to energy – in conditions where it cannot be produced in sufficient quantities.
Restoration of energy facilities destroyed by terrorist attacks is a long-term and more difficult mission. But over time we will succeed in this too. In time…
Today and in the future, as before, we must be very conscious of our energy consumption. Do not forget to limit the use of appliances that are not necessary and consume energy.
I also want to appeal to the leaders of our communities and the mayors of our cities: make sure that energy is not wasted. Now is definitely not the time for bright windows and bright advertising. It is necessary to consume some electricity in the public space,” said Zelensky.
The Ukrainian leader also talked about efforts in the territories liberated from Russian occupation: “Reconstruction is underway in the liberated territory. Every day I receive new information about the connection to gas, water, and electricity of hundreds of households in the liberated territories. Today (no – Sunday) 346 households were reconnected to the gas network in only two districts of the Kharkiv region. The city of Vovchansk – 750 more households with electricity. The city of Izyum – 300 more households with electricity.”
