OUR American Space Agency (NASA) announced the creation of a commission of 16 people to study Unidentified Air Phenomena (UAP)like their new name Unidentified flying objects (UFO) – in other words, about possible aliens that can visit our planet.

The committee, which includes well-known scientists of various specialties (astronomers, astrophysicists, oceanologists, information technology specialists, etc.), is headed by an astrophysicist David Spergelpresident of the non-profit Simons Foundation, will begin work on Monday, October 24.

The goal of the committee, which also includes a former American astronaut Scott Kelly, this is a search for objects or phenomena in the sky that cannot be identified either with aircraft or with natural phenomena. The committee will only consider unclassified information and reports, so it will not have access to sensitive military data.

“Exploring the unknown in space and the atmosphere is at the heart of what we do at NASA. Understanding the data we have about unidentified aerial phenomena is critical to helping us draw scientific conclusions about what is happening in our skies. NASA promised that the group’s findings would be released “in accordance with NASA’s principles of transparency, honesty, and scientific integrity.”

The committee’s time horizon will be around mid-2023, when its conclusions should be expected.

In 2021, the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a report saying there was no satisfactory explanation for 143 of the 144 UAPs filed since 2004.
