Two foreigners (aged 43 and 34) were detained in a spontaneous proceeding on Monday afternoon (17.10) in Marusi on charges of theft and robbery under aggravated circumstances, perjury and forgery of documents, while their accomplice is wanted.

In particular, in the morning hours of Monday (17.10) the defendants broke down the central door of a house in the Payan district, took out a number of objects and fled in a car.

After the searches, the police of the DIAS group found the above car on the street of Attica and urged the driver to stop, but he increased his speed, which led to the pursuit.

The car was stopped in the Amarusi area, from where the perpetrators were chased on foot, who were stopped and taken to the police station. Amarousiou, where they were arrested.

After a search and a search of the car they were in, the following were found and seized:

  • hacking tools
  • amount 1700 euros
  • various jewelry, bags and watches
  • sword
  • bow and quiver with ten arrows
  • currency
  • electronic devices

Many of the above items were previously removed from a house in the Payana area, as they were unconditionally recognized as their owner.

From the preliminary investigation T.A. Amarousiou found out that since at least July 2022, the defendants have teamed up to commit thefts from houses in the regions of North-East Attica and Boeotia.

As part of the preliminary investigation, a case of a house robbery committed in October in the Schimatario district was uncovered, where they were noticed by the victim and did not hesitate to use violence in order to keep the stolen goods.

During the search conducted in their home, many jewelry, watches, electronic devices, bags and glasses were found and seized.

The arrested were taken to the Athens Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, and their involvement in other criminal acts is currently being investigated.
