The new list further expands the platform’s offerings for the busy month of October, which also saw the debut of series such as “Glitch” (South Korea) and the third season of the delicious comedy “Derry Girls” or films such as “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone” (adaptation from Stephen King, the master of horror).
The most popular will be the fantastic film “The School of Good and Evil” with Sofia Ann Caruso, Sofia Wiley and Charlize Theron in the lead roles. As proof, it is already in Romania and in 57 other countries on the 1st place in the Top 10 films, even if the rating on IMDb is not great at all: 5.9/10.
The film is an adaptation of the globally successful series of books written by Soman Chainani and tells the story of a magical school for future heroes and villains. In typical Netflix fashion, in addition to debuting on the platform, it’s also playing in several US theaters.
“In the village of Gavaldon, Sophie and Agatha are best friends, although they are as different as can be. Sophie, a golden-haired weaver, dreams of escaping from serf life and becoming a princess, and Agatha has all the makings of a true witch. On the night of the Blood Moon, a powerful force transports them to the School of Good and Evil — and the story truly begins,” Netflix writes.
The school is run by the curmudgeonly but wonderful Lady Lesso (Charlize Theron). Pupils also include the children of famous characters such as the Wicked Witch and Captain Hook, as well as the son of King Arthur.
Finally, a “sinister figure” appears, threatening to destroy not only the school, but the entire world. All the breath from the “fake Hogwarts” must be taken away with her.
The other four titles are listed below. Among them are new episodes of the third season of Dragoste pe nevázute, a series about the company’s strategy to launch more and more of its own productions.
“The Green Gloves Gang”
-Love Is Blind: Season 3 (already 10th in Romania and 3rd in the world!)
– Notre Dame
-Stranger / Stranger from the shadows
Surprisingly, “Gothica”, a production with Hale Berry that made a lot of noise when it was released in 2003, was included in the top 10 films in Romania. Perhaps this is proof that many moviegoers here know how to appreciate quality and recommend it to the younger generation.
