TV adaptation “Dune“with title”Dune: The Sisterhoodrevealed five more characters and the actors who will play them.

The upcoming series is based on the novel The Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson and will air on the HBO Max platform. It is essentially a prequel with the story of the Harkonnen sisters taking place 10,000 years before the events of Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 film.

Starring We’ll Meet Emily Watson (Valia Harkonnen) and Shirley Henderson (Tula Harkonnen). The official description reads: “The Harkonnen Sisters fight against forces that threaten the future of mankind and found a legendary sect known as the Bene Gesserit.”

In the world of Dune, the Bene Gesserit are a group of women with unique abilities to influence events in this universe. “Dune” reveals that Paul Atreides’ mother, Jessica, belongs to this group and was trying to teach her son to gain precognitive powers. The series will explore the origins of the Bene Gesserit.

But in addition to the two main characters, the producers chose five more actors for key roles for the series. According to Deadline, Sarah – Sophie Bushnina, Salome Brun – Franklin, Faoilin Cunningham, Aoife Hintz and Chloe Lea have been announced. Bead will play Princess Ines, heir to the Golden Lion throne, while Brun-Franklin will play Fremen Michaela. Cunningham, Hintz and Leah will play Jen, Emmeline and Leela respectively.

However, it is possible that the release of the series will be delayed and precede the release of the second Dune film, which is expected to premiere on the big screen on November 3, 2023.
