Ed Sheeran (Ed Sheeran) admits that if it were not for Queen Elizabeth, perhaps he would not have had the path that everyone knows.
During a recent appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the musician said his life changed when he attended Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee, a spectacular event marking her 50th year on the throne, he said.
“It was 2002, I was 11 years old, and I didn’t play the guitar then,” he began his story. “I was watching it on TV, Eric Clapton comes out and plays the first track “Layla”… The song ends and in that moment I knew I wanted to be it. I want to have a guitar and I want to sing on stage.”
And his dream came true when he performed “The A Team” at the 2012 Diamond Jubilee and “Perfect” at the Platinum Jubilee earlier this year.
