A group of 20 Greek judges and prosecutors have lost their positions due to unsatisfactory performance of their duties over the past ten months, the Greek publication To Proto Thema reported on Tuesday, citing the Supreme Court’s disciplinary body, DPA and Agerpres news agencies reported. .
According to the publication, dismissed judges and prosecutors are considered guilty of accumulating a large number of unsolved cases and are accused of laziness, incompetence and absenteeism.
The situation in the highest administrative court of StE is most disturbing, where there are cases where decisions are delayed for 19 years. And the court of financial audit is overcrowded, it has 122,000 cases.
If the incompetence of magistrates is partly the cause of the unstable situation in the Greek courts, then the outdated system is also to blame. As the employees of the system reported, stacks of files and documents, still written by hand, are transported from place to place in carts of those used in supermarkets.
Due to the delay, a number of cases were closed, the statute of limitations was exceeded, the DPA also recorded.
