The five players Tekeu called up are Ana Bohdan (46 WTA), Jacqueline Christian (83 WTA), Gabriela Ruse (104 WTA), Alexia Todoni (1258 WTA) and Monica Niculescu (52 WTA doubles).

Simona Halep (announced that she will not play again this season), Sorana Kirstya (withdrawn from the national team) and Iryna Begu (injured) were not called up.

Romania and Hungary have met nine times in the Federation Cup so far, and our team has achieved eight successes, the most recent of which was a 2-1 win in Budapest in 2014 in Group I of the Europe-Africa zone thanks to successful victories by Sorana Kirstja and the pair of Iryna Begu/ Monica Niculescu, Timea Babos (won against Simona Halep), which brought home a point.

Hungary’s only victory was recorded in 1993 in England with a score of 2-1.
