Giselle Nutsu, a resident gastroenterologist and nutritionist, says it’s important to “limit ourselves to the dose that meets our needs.”

During a discussion on HotNews.ro, she said that she offers the exercise to those who ask for her help in this regard, clarifying that “many people have food addictions.”

  • “I was asked: what should I do if I’m a glutton? You have such a desire, I understand, it’s normal. We all have weaknesses. How much do you need to be satisfied? how much do you usually eat – Well, cake, almonds.
  • I give them such an example and challenge them to do their homework: “Let’s see.” The next time you crave almonds, think carefully about that desire. Why do you need this fine? How does its use help you and what hinders it? It makes you sick after use. You think about these things before you eat.
  • Remembering them, the right moment comes, and you buy amandine in the store. You hurry home, with a tear in your mouth, and sit down at the table to eat.
  • It is important that when we sit down at the table to eat, when we eat food that gives us pleasure, we limit ourselves to a dose that satisfies our needs, that gives us that dose, let’s call it, the hormone of happiness, the state of being good.
  • You will notice that if, for example, we eat chocolate, after a few squares the pleasure is not so much. You no longer feel that good feeling it gives you so much. Here is such a recommendation: limit yourself to a dose sufficient to satisfy this craving.
  • It would be wrong to tell a person who has a real addiction to stop eating anything sweet from now on. I tell them to eat as much as is enough to satisfy their appetite.’
