Minister of Labor Marius Budai states that the calculated budgetary impact of the pension increase from January 1, 2023 will amount to 11 billion lei and that there will be no problems with securing the pension increase budget.

• “The impact on the budget is 11 billion lei. When we made this proposal, we at PSD did a very good job of analyzing it, combining and modeling the data in such a way that we could make sure we had the budget space.
• The figures I used can be modeled and used by anyone, they are on the National Forecasting Commission website, the National Institute of Statistics website, the Eurostat website, the developments that later came from the IMF for economic growth , regarding the implementation of the budget and revenues, and there are no problems, we can provide this increase starting on January 1,” the Minister of Labor said in a telephone conversation on Friday night on Realitatea Plus, as quoted by news.ro.

Budai rejected the idea that the increase in pensions will take place in two stages.

“The budget increase will be at least 10% from January 1, and there will be no increase in two stages,” Budai explained.
