The Ukrainian military claims to have destroyed a significant amount of Russian weapons during an attack on a railway junction in the eastern Luhansk region, CNN reports.
He also stated that the Russians suffered significant losses in Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk.
But in its operational report on Friday, the General Staff made no mention of the fighting around Bakhmut in Donetsk, where Russian forces appear to have made some gains in recent days.
But the General Staff said that Russia “continues to focus its efforts on attempts to implement plans to enter the administrative border of the Donetsk region.”
The General Staff stated that “according to preliminary information, in the area of the railway station of the city of Anthracite [Luhansk], our soldiers destroyed a significant part of the enemy’s weapons and military equipment, which was transported by railway. The amount and nature of the damages are being clarified.”
In recent weeks, Ukraine has targeted Russian supply lines in Luhansk as it seeks to continue its successful offensive in nearby Kharkiv.
In other areas, according to the General Staff, about 150 Russian soldiers were killed and about 100 were injured by Ukrainian shelling in Khlybodarivka (Donetsk region), Tokmak (Zaporizhka region) and Tokarivka (Kherson region).
The General Staff reported that in the city of Kherson, Russian troops seized 13 barge-type vessels for transporting personnel and equipment across the Dnipro. Ukrainian long-range missiles made most of the bridges across the river impassable.
It is also claimed that three S-300 installations were destroyed. S-300 missiles caused devastating damage to central Ukraine, in particular Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv.
