On Tuesday afternoon (10.11) in Acharnes and on the island of Mykonos, two local residents, 21 and 23 years old, were detained by police officers of the Attica Security Directorate Property Crimes Department, gang members who committed burglary – shoplifting, in Attica areas. Their 22-year-old local accomplice has been identified and is on the wanted list.

As it became known to the investigation, since February 2022, the criminal activity of two detainees has been established, who created and joined a criminal group whose activities extended to break-ins and thefts from shops in Attica regions. .

As to their modus operandi, they went to the shops they targeted in their official vehicles and, after breaking the facade or window of the shops in an unknown way, entered them and took away a lot of valuables and money.

Since the shops were located in densely populated areas with constant foot and vehicle traffic, the criminals used different roles to avoid arrest.

The total amount received by the gang from its actions exceeds 1,000,000 euros.

As a result of searches conducted at the criminals and their homes, 38 12 mm cartridges, a knife, several mobile phones, a safe, an iron bar and motorcycle keys were found and seized.

During the preliminary investigation, two cases of burglary and theft in stores in Kifisia and Peristeri were uncovered.

Those arrested in the case against him were taken to the criminal prosecutor’s office of Athens.
