On the occasion of World Food Day (16 October), Médecins Sans Frontières and award-winning chef Lefteris Lazaru join forces and call for the fight against malnutrition.
Through the video, Lefteris Lazarou introduces us to the nutritional formula used by Médecins Sans Frontières to help thousands of malnourished children around the world.
This is a puffy nut, a specially formulated nutritional supplement that contains all the nutrients needed to treat malnutrition.
Today, more than 232 million children worldwide suffer from malnutrition. War, poverty and the climate crisis are factors directly related to this problem.
MSF runs programs to combat malnutrition in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan and many other countries around the world. In 2021 alone, they treated 203,400 children at their food centers and 82,000 children were hospitalized with acute malnutrition.
