The Basic with Ads subscription will be available starting November 3 in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom, Netflix said.

Its price varies from country to country. In the US, it will cost $7 per month, while in Italy, for example, the subscription will be €5.50 per month.

However, company officials hint that it could also become more expensive at some point, as the company has done several times with other subscriptions.

Users will have to endure 4-5 minutes of advertising per hour. Ads will last from 15 to 30 seconds.

However, the ad-supported version will have a few drawbacks. First, not all of Netflix’s content library will be available. The company says it is in talks with rights holders.

Second, viewing quality will be limited to HD (720p). Finally, subscribers to this version will not be able to download content for offline viewing.
