Sector 3 City Hall is installing the famous prefabricated curbs and renovating several areas of Piata Unirii in the capital. Because of the works, the traffic lights were not working, traffic was regulated by the police. The Unirii square is managed by the capital city hall, and in a response to HotNews.ro, representatives of the institution say that the city hall of sector 3 did not ask for their consent.
- “The works carried out by the Municipality of Sector 3 on Piata Unirii are part of the rehabilitation category (replacement of kerbs, repaving, rehabilitation of green areas), so the approval of the Technical Transport Commission is not required (which would be necessary in case of modernization/reconfiguration).
- The agreement in this case (the work done by the City Hall of Sector 3 – no) is the responsibility of the road administrator, which for Piața Unirii is the Bucharest Streets Administration. We explain that the street administration has not received any request for the issuance of a contract for the works performed by Sector 3 of the City Hall in the Piaţa Unirii area,” reads the response sent by the City Hall to HotNews.ro’s request. .
HotNews.ro asked the point of view of the City Hall of Sector 3, when we get the answer, we will publish it.
From what can be seen on the spot, they are arranging stone islands on pedestrian crossings, installing new curbs, bringing in soil and, it seems, they are also arranging a green zone.
Some areas of the square needed renovation, while others did not, as the old granite curbs and granite paving are in good condition.
