Jared Leto will star in a film about legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
American singer and actress and Emma Landbruck’s production company Paradox will co-produce the film with the late German couturier Karl Lagerfeld’s house.
The late Chanel creative director’s closest confidants – Pier Paolo Riggi, Caroline Lebar and Sebastien Zondo – will be executive producers on the film.
In particular, Riggi has been the CEO of Lagerfeld for more than a decade. Lebar worked closely with the designer as his brand consultant, and Zondo, who is now a company consultant, worked as Lagerfeld’s personal assistant and bodyguard for 20 years.
There are no details about the plot of the film, but it is known that it will be dedicated to the inner circle of the fashion designer.
“Carl’s career spanned over 50 years, so both personally and professionally, he was close to a lot of people,” Leto told wwd. βI can say that we will return to key relationships at different stages of his life,β he added.
“Over the years, we have been approached by several Hollywood producers who have offered to collaborate on a film about Carl’s iconic life,” Riggi said in a statement to Deadline. βIt wasn’t until we met with Jared and Emma that we really felt confident that the story was being told in the artistic manner that Carl would like to see. Through our discussions, we have established a relationship of trust that will allow us to work very well together on this project,β he added.
