
The American rapper has died suddenly at the age of 59. Cooliobest known for the iconic song “Paradise Gangsters’.
The news of his death was confirmed by his manager, Jarez Posey, who said he was found unconscious in a friend’s bathroom in Los Angeles.
The exact cause of his death has yet to be determined, but according to his manager, Coolio reportedly went into cardiac arrest.
His real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr. He started making music in the 1980s but made history in 1995 with the hit “Gangsta’s Paradise”.
For this song, which sounds in the film “Dangerous Thoughts” with Michelle Pfeiffer in the title role, the musician received a Grammy Award.
During his four-decade career, he has recorded eight albums, and has received three MTV Video Music Awards and an American Music Award.
His other hits include “Fantastic Voyage”, “Rollin’ With My Homies”, “1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New)” and “Too Hot”.
Although his star was no longer as bright as in the 90s, Coolio continues to be actively involved in music to this day. During this period, he toured with other famous 90s rappers such as Vanilla Ice and Young MC.
