US military aid to Ukraine accelerates the possibility of “direct military conflict” between Russia and NATO, a Russian diplomat said Tuesday, CNN reported.
“The US continues to pump more weapons into Ukraine, contributing to the direct participation of militants and their advisers in the conflict,” said Konstantin Vorontsov, head of the Russian delegation to the UN Commission on Disarmament, the First Committee of the UN General Assembly. .
“This not only prolongs hostilities, but also brings the situation closer to the dangerous line of direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO,” he added.
The diplomat’s comments were made after the US announced the provision of additional military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $625 million.
