During the Bucharest Marathon sports event, which will be held on October 8-9, 2022 in the capital, the Steps for Life application, developed by the Association for a Brighter Future Together, will be launched. Aimed at turning the steps taken into real aid for humanitarian causes, it encourages people to exercise, both for the obvious health and well-being benefits and to help others live better now.

Donate steps, participate in the Bucharest Marathon Photo: Steps to life

Available in two versions, for iOS systems and Android systems, Steps for Life records the daily steps taken by users using the Health (iOS) and Google Fit (Android) apps. Later, based on a simple mechanism, it converts the recorded steps (by viewing a short advertisement) to be transferred to one or more humanitarian causes among those currently present in the application. Finally, the funds collected from advertising are used to purchase the necessary materials to support these causes.

“Steps to life began with the desire to do good both to those who decided to use the application and thereby help further, and to those who need our help, everyone. We believe that any help is welcome, and the more people who are willing to support humanitarian causes, the more we can help. The impact is directly proportional to the number of participants and the number of steps taken (literally). And the benefits for all participants: a more active, healthy lifestyle, a common goal and many good deeds that will help change the lives of others for the better,” said Liviu Menescu, app manager.

Steps for Life is available for iOS here and for Android here. In addition, the developers have also prepared two guides to help users install the application on devices with iOS and Android operating systems.
