James Bond: cars, watches and items from the 007 movies are up for auction

“Sixty Years of James Bond” is the title of a two-part auction organized by Christie’s in the UK. Proceeds from the sale of cars and items, watches and clothes from movies starring 007 go to 45 charities.

A silver Aston Martin DB5, one of eight built for dangerous scenes in the James Bond film No Time To Die, the Land Rover Defender 110 and the Triumph motorcycle from the same film, as well as the Land Rover Defender 007 with the 60th anniversary logo, are on sale at auctions at a price of 1.5 to 2 million pounds.

Prominent items also include a Faberge-style gilded egg with Swarovski stones from the movie Octopus and a tuxedo worn by Timothy Dalton as James Bond in the movie License to Kill.

Christie’s Chairman Emeritus Earl Snowdon said of the auction: “One of my earliest childhood memories is of obsessively playing with a metal Aston Martin DB5, a gift my parents brought home from the premiere of Goldfinger. From that moment on, I have been fascinated by every new James Bond movie, the special effects and stunts, Bond watches and incredible style. The British legend James Bond had a big impact on my life. Christie’s is honored to once again partner with EON Productions for this official two-part charity auction to celebrate Bond’s 60th birthday. We hope that live and online auctions will raise record amounts for all of the selected great charities.”

The auction takes place today, September 28, and online from September 15 until James Bond Day (October 5), themed events and collectibles from all 25 films are offered.
