A video shared on social networks shows how an entire assault formation of Russian armored vehicles was destroyed after running into a minefield.
The video was distributed by Ukraine Weapons Tracker, the administrators of the page recognized the burning vehicles in the footage: two MT-LB armored personnel carriers, BMP-1, a tank and an engineering military vehicle IMR-2.
#Ukraine: The Ukrainian engineering troops destroyed a strike formation of Russian equipment – two MT-LB armored personnel carriers, BMP-1, a tank and an engineering military vehicle IMR-2 were blown up by anti-tank mines, presumably in the city of #Donetsk region pic.twitter.com/IJWzTlifOu

It is believed that the video was shot in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, but there is no exact geolocation.
We remind you that immediately after the collapse of the Russian front in the Kharkiv region, fierce battles were also lifted in Donetsk region, a region that the Russian army was able to conquer only by about 60%, despite repeated military offensives. of the army sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Ukraine at the end of February.
The only offensive that the Russian armed forces are currently conducting in Ukraine, in the direction of Bakhmut, is also taking place in the Donetsk region of Donbas.
Problems of the Russian occupiers in Ukraine due to landmines
Numerous videos that have appeared on social networks in recent months have captured often inexplicable situations where Russian tanks or armored vehicles roll towards me and spectacularly explode, even though the danger seems obvious.
One such video, released in the middle of last month, shows an infantry fighting vehicle similar to the one seen in the new video hitting a mine while trying to break through two other armored vehicles abandoned by the Russian military.
Video of a Russian BMP hitting a mine near two damaged BMPs. A good indicator of why Russian troops ride their BMPs. https://t.co/vsaYefR0F9 pic.twitter.com/L84xWMjKYB

After the explosion, the soldiers in the vehicle immediately jumped out of it, two fell to the ground, although it is not known whether they were injured or simply trying to hide.
The video immediately reminded me of another one made a month ago, in which a tank of the Russian army explodes after hitting a mine among 4 other tanks abandoned by the Russian military.
#Ukraine: Recently, engineering and artillery forces of the Ukrainian army stopped a Russian tank attack in the east – at least two tanks of the T-80/T-72 series were destroyed, four more were damaged and abandoned. pic.twitter.com/iv9rhbDM2J

Another footage posted on social media late last month shows two Russian armored vehicles jumping into the air after running into me just as they were rapidly advancing and shelling Ukrainian army positions.
#Ukraine: Two Russian BMP-3s blew up on anti-tank mines during an attempt to attack Ukrainian positions in the Vugledar area, #Donetsk region
It is interesting that some Russian sources, who initially published this footage, claimed that it was Ukrainian forces. pic.twitter.com/wth6zcc8BQ— uD83CuDDFAuD83CuDDE6 Ukraine Weapons Tracker (@UAWeapons) August 27, 2022
Here, the danger to the armor is not as obvious, although the result is the same.
However, the Russian military appears to have realized the danger that mines pose to its own armored forces, as less than two weeks ago a video emerged of Ukrainian artillery hitting a Russian tank just as it was attempting to clear a field.
But in this case, the Russian tank withstood the blow thanks to dynamic armor.
But the same cannot be said for a Russian truck carrying hundreds of anti-tank mines that exploded after hitting a mine in early September.
