Elizabeth Lipe, sharp address to Minister Eduard Novak: “I see that you came completely unprepared”

Simona Radish refuses to be compared with David Popovich: “Everyone knows about me in world rowing”

“How many athletes like Simona can Romania boast? Our Simona is a phenomenon. Simona Radish is David Popovich in rowing, because we always talk about water” – Elizaveta Lypaat a ceremony at Henri Coanda Airport.

Asked to comment on the FRC president’s statement, Radish replied: “I am Simona Radish, I keep my name! More than David Popovici on the water, I am the Radish Simona of Romanian rowing. I’m sure everyone in world rowing knows about me. Phenomena exist and continue to appear. Not only us, but all athletes manage to win medals.”

Simona Radish and the world gold won on the birthday of her colleague Ankuci Bodnar

Simona Radish also said that a gold medal in women’s rowing at the World Championships was very important because it was not on her record.

“The medals are very big, very important for us. We missed them in our records, and we are all the more happy that we managed to win them on Ankuci’s birthday. We are happy to have the support of many people from home and we want to thank them for that. We also have to thank the team. Because an athlete can be the best, but he can’t get it all by himself. And behind us is a whole army of people, from technical to medical personnel. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do anything, so I want to thank them in this way” – Simona Radisquoted by Agerpres.

Ankuca Bodnar, Simona’s double sculls teammate, said she won’t soon forget the gold medal she won in Racice on her birthday.

“Before leaving for Rachice, I said that we lack a medal from our records, the gold of the World Championship. We worked very hard, and Racice managed to achieve this long-awaited result even on my birthday. I don’t know if there were emotions just because it was a race on my birthday, but I definitely had emotions before these WCs. After all, there were constructive emotions. Simone wished me a happy birthday before the race and at the end when I won my medal. It was the most wonderful birthday, I will not soon forget it” – Ankuta Bodnar.
