Former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather defeated MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter Mikura Asakura by knockout in an exhibition bout on Sunday in Tokyo.
In the second half, the American won, sending his opponent to the floor with a straight right.
In the absence of referees, this fight will not count towards the 45-year-old Mayweather’s record of 50 wins (and 0 losses).
Asakura is a 30-year-old Japanese MMA star (16 wins and three losses) and a popular YouTuber with over 2.7 million subscribers.
Mayweather retired before returning in 2017 to defeat MMA star Conor McGregor by TKO in the 10th round.
The two stars are close to agreeing on a rematch in 2023.
Mayweather’s last exhibition fight was in May against Don Moore in Abu Dhabi.
Mayweather was included in the “Hall of Fame” in June, writes News.ro.
