Singer-songwriter Neil Young interrupted his colleague Jack White’s interview with music producer and former Columbia Records president Rick Rubin during a recent episode of the Broken Record podcast.
White and Rubin had been talking for some time when Neil Young, who was recording new music at the same studio in Malibu, walked in uninvited and took part in their conversation.
White Stripes vocalist Jack White praised Neil Young’s long career in the music industry and compared him to the Rolling Stones.
“I remember when I was 12 and the Rolling Stones were 40 and everyone was like, ‘Oh! Oh my God!” And it’s so great that you can prove it now,” White said. In response, Young attributed the sustainability of his career to his “spirit.”
